Chroma NB would like to announce the departure of its Executive Director, Alex Ash. As a founding member of Chroma NB, Alex has been part of the organization since its inception, first as Board Vice-President and then as Executive Director starting in 2023. Chroma NB was established in 2020 with the goal of cultivating the social and systemic transformations needed for 2SLGBTQIA+ lives to be supported, celebrated, and uplifted through education, advocacy, and accessible service provision.
Over the past 4 years, Chroma’s reach has grown, and the organization has brought together the rainbow community and allies across the region. During their time with Chroma, Alex is grateful to have worked alongside such passionate, driven, and caring staff, board, and volunteers. They have championed the region, been recognised by the City of Saint John and the Province of New Brunswick for their work, and helped lead national initiatives alongside their team.
Recruitment for Chroma’s next Executive Director is now underway. Over the next few months Alex will work closely with the staff and board to ensure a smooth transition for the organization, and those most closely connected with Chroma’s work.
Chroma would like to thank Alex for their time, energy, and compassion towards fostering an inclusive community in Saint John and its neighbouring regions. Without their determination and efforts, Chroma would not be where it is today. We wish Alex the best in their future endeavours and look forward to seeing their impact in other communities across the country.
