Queer Joy Photovoice Project
An intergenerational artistic expression project focused on joy.
The Queer Joy Photovoice Project was implemented by Wisdom2Action (W2A) in collaboration with three partner organizations: Chroma NB (New Brunswick), Edmonton 2 Spirit Society (Alberta), and 2 Spirits in Motions Society (Saskatchewan). We brought together youth ages 18 to 26 and adults 50 and over to answer questions like “how does queer joy strengthen 2SLGBTQIA+ communities?” and to explore and express queer joy through photography. Participants captured images that reflect joyful moments, spaces, and expressions within their queer identities.
