Art is meant to be accessible. Folx of all ages can be talented and accomplished in the world of art, but the best part about creation is that anyone can do it so long as they have the tools and encouragement. North East Moon’s Cass, artist in-residence at our very own city market, brings the Joy of Art (both the name of the series and the feeling there from) to Chroma’s 2SLGBTQIA+ community.

Cass brings Chroma’s Rainbow Connections events a continuing series of art classes and experiences that move through a variety of styles, tools, media and art disciplines for everyone in the 2SLGBTQIA+ community, family, friends and artistic allies.

In Cass’s own words:
“”Hi! My names Cass, some of you may be familiar with my work after attending some of the “Joy of Art” classes with Chroma, and I wanted to write personally in this post to just say how happy I have been with the turn out. It over fills my cup with joy to say the least. I’ve been asked to write about myself- well things you should know about me are: I am a creative, I think that’s well known though haha- I am also a full hearted rat fanatic, to me these critters bring a lot of pride, and often surprise me with what they can get up to- which I relate to a lot. I am also an avid embroidery Painter and artist- to which I am currently serving up as part of my residency at the Saint John Market. Other things you should know, I was born here- raised here, traveled a bit and resettled here as per the last 4 years have allowed me too. Things that we’ve done so far in my classes have been watercolor techniques, where we had a play day that allowed us to explore our collective creative pursuits, as well as live paintings where I walked you step by step through two paintings that I had created for the class, as well as an original of mine- and of course, my favorite class was the Concertina Notebook class where we all got to create something personal, together that can have more creations put into it as deemed fit to the creator. I look forward to the future in creation and innovation with these upcoming classes, hope to see you there!”
