Wanna play? Don’t miss 2SLGBTQIA+ Chroma Games Night at Heroes’ Beacon

The year kicked off the start of Chroma’s Tuesday Night Games gathering at Heroes’ Beacon in Uptown, and it was a fantastic evening of fun with friends from the 2SLGBTQIA+ community! The heroes of Heroes’ Beacon offered their mystical and magical gaming lounge that rests above the shop to Chroma queer community members and allies for a weekly meetup of gaming, giggles and good times.

It was nice to see so many folx come out to enjoy all of the amazing games and activities offered by Heroes’ Beacon. A spacious games room off to the side of the games lounge space was filled with the happy voices and roaring laughter of Rainbow Lunch Club regulars and youth from the Chroma community who were able to gather with folx for the first time since “the Shire days” of summer 2022.

The two and a half hour event included 2SLGBTQIA+ community members & allies alike enjoying lessons from a Heroes’ Beacon pro, family board game time, Pokémon battles, puzzles, trivia games, hilarious wordplay games and more. Old friends reunited, new friends met for the first time and connections were made. Delicious donuts were generously provided to Chroma at Heroes’ Beacon by local bake shop This Guy Bakes It located at Slocum & Ferris in the city market.

A week flew by like a quick roll of dice and Chroma was back in the amazing upstairs games lounge of Heroes’ Beacon. A few new faces and returning friends played word and trivia games, Minecraft lego games, hilarious 18+ choose your own adventure games for the adults at the gathering as boisterous hoots and giggles flowed once more from the private games room overlooking the soft glow of the lights on Union St.

Chroma is looking forward to seeing our regular friends faces and meeting more new friends as these regular games nights continue. Shout out to Heroes’ Beacon for being the most generous and welcoming hosts and venue.
