A significant milestone in the history of pride and inclusion just happened this weekend: the town of Sussex, New Brunswick hosted their first ever drag show. The performance was part of Diversifest, organized by the Multicultural Association of Sussex. Alex Ash, president of Chroma NB, represented the organization during the celebrations.

Chroma NB hosted a booth. Many families stopped by to make their own buttons related to inclusion, love, and equality. They even had time to learn about Chroma’s mission and inclusive pronouns with Alex.
Along Main Street, the event held a family-friendly exhibition of Diversity in all of its forms, from Indigenous representation, various cultural tables hosted by our local newcomers, invisible and visible disabilities, mental health, 2SLGBTQIA+, cultural vendors, and cultural performers among other activities such as face-painting and games.
Chroma: Pride, Inclusion, Equality Inc. is a non-profit organization that provides support for 2SLGBTQIA+ people in the Saint John Region.
